Beautiful fried shrimp made for a tasty bite, though the rice base kept this handsome plate outside the shrimp-and-grits conversation.

First things first this bar is absolutely stunning. Incredible 13th-floor view of Savannah from just east of downtown. There’s no other view in Savannah like this.
That being said, the drinks are expensive AF. The shrimp and “grits” come out looking incredibly gorgeous with six deep-fried, tail-on large shrimp and an arugula mix. The first bite reveals that these aren’t grits at all, but rice. Damn delicious, but these just ain’t grits. The fried shrimp are quite good, but here I am in a fancy bar getting my fingers all messy because they are tail-on. The sauce is tasty but there just isn’t enough of it. And there’s no bacon, no sausage, no tasso, nor anything like that to flavor it.
Overall, this is a fine dish. Hell, I might get this again. But this is Savannah and this just ain’t shrimp and grits. That difference shows up in its Lowcountry Score; the grade reflects how much I enjoyed the dish. It is, however, really tasty. B-
