The country-ham and andouille gravy had real appeal, but tiny shrimp and plain grits kept the skillet from coming together.

This is not a gourmet dish, but it is damn tasty. It comes out in a skillet with gravy all over it and plenty of stringy cheddar cheese. There are about 10 shrimp, but very small. The country ham gravy with andouille sausage is the star of the show. It’s served with an incredible biscuit that helps clean up the gravy. I can’t imagine anyone finishing the entire dish because there are tons of grits and they’re just plain boring.

Personally, I would get this gravy served on something else. It seems too tasty to give less than an A, but the ingredients feel disconnected and, individually, only the gravy stands out. B.
